"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment
before starting to improve the world." - Anne Frank

About the SAFYAs

Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards’ mission is to create an impact that is both positive and long-lasting on young people and their communities.

The SAFYAs are set out to recognise both individuals and groups of young people in Somerset (between 9 and 18 years old - Key Stages 2-5) who go above and beyond to attain our core values.

These young people, and the inspiring qualities they exhibit, deserve personal recognition. As they are the foundations of our future, it is vital to encourage them in what they are doing in order to continue to improve the community of Somerset.

Why nominate?

Young people who demonstrate our three core values deserve to be publicly recognised and rewarded. Whilst having the opportunity to go to an Awards Ceremony to celebrate their success, the winner of each award will also receive £100, with all winners and shortlisted entries also receiving a copy of 'The Diary of a Young Girl - Anne Frank' and a certificate of recognition. A SAFYAs nomination can also be included on your CV or personal statement for future employment.

Who can be nominated?

To be nominated you must:

  • Be aged between 9 and 18 years old (Key Stages 2-5)
  • Attend a school, college, youth group or be home-schooled in Somerset
  • Be personally known to the nominator

Each nominator can nominate as many individuals and groups as they deem worthy (eg. Peer Mediators, Conflict Resolution Groups)
